Outside of his research and professional experience, Jonathan benefits from a rich social experience. Jonathan is a first generation Mexican immigrant to the United States who's American experience has been enriched by cultural immersion in predominantly White and predominantly Black public schools followed by a private college education.  During his college education, Jonathan was made aware of the struggles of his LGBTQ+ peers and stands as an Ally in their quest for equal treatment under the law. Jonathan is constantly looking to expand his cultural horizons by seeking vibrant conversations with those with distinct life experiences.
